What is Conversation View?

Conversation view is an option in Yahoo Mail that groups related messages into a single thread. You can toggle the conversation view on and off from the Yahoo Mail settings.

With conversation view enabled, a single entry is shown for all replies to an original message. For example, if you send an email to a group of people and get dozens of responses, the related messages remain in one single thread for you to view, move, search, or delete with a few clicks.

Conversation view is enabled by default. However, sifting through a thread of emails to find individual unread messages can be cumbersome, which is why Yahoo Mail has an option to disable conversation view so that you can see each message as a single entry.

How to Enable and Disable Conversation View in Yahoo Mail

Conversation view can be enabled or disabled in your Yahoo Mail settings.

Select the gear icon located in the upper-right corner of Yahoo Mail. Select More Settings. Go to the left panel and select Viewing email. Select the Group by conversation toggle switch. It appears blue when enabled and white when disabled.

How to Enable and Disable Conversation View in the Yahoo Mail App

If you use the Yahoo Mail mobile app, toggling the conversation view feature is a little different.

Tap the menu icon (it’s located in the upper-left corner of the Yahoo Mail app). On some devices you may need to tap the Profile icon rather than a three-lined icon. It should still be located in the top-left. Tap Settings. Tap the Conversations toggle switch. It appears blue when enabled and white when disabled.
