How to Enable or Disable Subtitles on Starz (Mobile)

Like the desktop procedure discussed above, subscribers can change the subtitle settings of a title through the playback screen on the Starz mobile app.

First, you need to open the Starz app on your smartphone and start playing any title you want. To add subtitles or closed captions, select the keyboard icon located at the lower left-hand side of the playback window. Once the pop-up window appears, choose the subtitle language you want.

You will also have the option to turn off closed captions in the same pop-up window. Subscribers can make these choices by selecting the circle to the left of the option they desire to see.

Once selected, the circle will fill to indicate the current setting, and the content is ready to be viewed.

If the title you are watching does not offer subtitles, consider downloading subtitles for movies and TV shows separately.

How to Enable or Disable Subtitles on Starz (Smart TV)

To adjust the subtitle settings of Starz on a TV, you should first select the title you want to watch. Then, navigate to the CC or Subtitle icon on the playback window.

Various smart TVs and TV-connected streaming devices may vary on which icon they use to indicate audio settings in a playback window. Still, they are consistently located on the bottom of the playback screen.

Once selected, you need to proceed as you would on a mobile device or web browser—choose the subtitles you want to use and then go back to watching the movie or show you selected.
