This Water-type Pokemon looks just like a cute, little dolphin and can be found early on in the game. However, if you’re looking to evolve your Finizen into its final evolutionary form, Palafin, you’re going to need to meet two requirements. Here’s what you need to know.
Evolving Pokemon is one of the most important aspects of the game. In fact, it can be one of the best ways to fill up your Pokedex, especially with harder-to-find Pokemon, like the various starter Pokemon found in Scarlet and Violet.
For some Pokemon, though, evolution isn’t as easy as simply leveling them up to a certain point. For some, you may need to trade the Pokemon to evolve them, while others will require you to complete certain tasks.
How to Evolve Finizen Into Palafin
Such is the case with Finizen, a cute new Water-type Pokemon found in both Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.
To evolve Finizen, you’re not only going to need to hit level 38 with it, but you’re going to need to level it up while playing in a multiplayer session using the Union Circle mechanic if you want to evolve it into a Palafin.
The nice thing about this, though, is that you don’t technically need to be close to the other person, nor do you need to actually take part in any battles. Instead, you can simply level the Pokemon up using EXP Candy, and it will evolve once it has reached Level 38.
Once evolved into Palafin, you won’t get the massive, buff Pokemon that you’re probably expecting at all times.
Instead, your Palafin will look like a normal Finizen; however, it will have a heart on the bottom of its chest. And when you enter battles with it selected, it will turn into its “hero form,” transforming to the buff dolphin creature that you can see in the image above.
As one of the newest Pokemon in the series, fans are no doubt looking to get their hands on Finizen and Palafin as early as possible. Luckily, you can find it along the shoreline all around Paldea, which should make it easy to find and catch whenever you want to explore those portions of the map.
However, it will be easier to find if you’ve already unlocked the water mount for your Legendary Pokemon, Koraidon or Moraidon, depending on which game you’re playing.
